Recommendations for this craft project: Use good scissors for cutting, tweezers to grab the strings and remove some of the cutouts that did not fully separate from the design, and a glue gun to finish the seams.
To make Modena bomboniera favors, snip off an 12-14" length of the imported Italian two-ply ribbon. Place five almonds inside the strip. Grabbing hold of the ends of two tension strings sewn into the lip, pull the material gently away from the strings at one end. Repeat on the other side. Tie a secure knot and hot glue the fabric seams if necessary. Decorate!
